The 2025 sailing season was a busy and exciting year for the Travel Boat team and our growing community of travelers.
It was a year full of new routes, new experiences, and a clear shift in how people choose to travel.
More and more travelers are discovering that a yacht holiday is not a luxury, but a lifestyle choice - a chance to escape the crowds, explore freely, and reconnect with the sea.
Chartering a boat has become a natural way to experience independence, comfort, and adventure all at once.
Where Our Travelers Sailed in 2025
The Mediterranean remained at the heart of our travelers’ adventures.
Greece led the way with 38% of bookings, followed by Italy (22%), Croatia (16%), and France and Spain (11% each).
In total, almost nine out of ten travelers chose the Mediterranean - a region that continues to offer endless beauty and diversity.
Yet we also noticed a growing curiosity for more exotic waters.
This winter, some of our clients sailed around Guadeloupe, marking a new wave of interest in warm-water yacht charters beyond Europe.
Looking Ahead to 2026
As we close another successful season, we’re already preparing for 2026 - a year that promises even more variety, new sailing trends, and exciting destinations.
So, what can you expect next year?
Which destinations will remain most popular?
And most importantly - when should you book your yacht to get the best choice and price?
Why It Pays to Book Early
Summer in the Mediterranean is vibrant and full of life, but also busy.
The best yachts and routes are often booked months in advance, sometimes even before the end of the previous year.
Booking early means:
• Access to the best yachts and crews.
• More freedom to choose your route and travel dates.
• Early-bird discounts of 15–20% or more on selected models.
When to Book Your Yacht for Summer 2026
Ideally, 6–12 months in advance.
This gives you enough time to secure the perfect boat, destination, and captain — and enjoy peace of mind while waiting for your trip.

You Don’t Have to Rent the Whole Yacht
Not everyone travels with a big group.
That’s why cabin charters - where you book just a cabin on a shared yacht - are becoming increasingly popular.
Think of it as a floating boutique hotel: everything is organized for you, and all you need to do is relax and enjoy.
It’s the perfect choice for:
• Solo travelers or couples.
• Those who want to experience sailing without the logistics.
• Travelers who love meeting new people and sharing adventures.
Cabin charters offer the full sea experience at a more affordable price.
When the Sea Is at Its Best
The Mediterranean sailing season runs from April to October, but each period has its own charm:
• April–May: A peaceful start to the season – fewer crowds, soft warmth, perfect for first-timers.
• June–August: The lively peak – festivals, full marinas, and endless sunshine.
• September–October: Still warm, calmer harbors, fewer tourists – ideal for those seeking privacy and better prices.
More travelers are now choosing May or September for the perfect balance between weather, price, and serenity.
Top Sailing Destinations for 2026
In 2026, the Mediterranean will remain at the heart of our travelers’ plans - especially Greece, Croatia, and Italy, where every island and coastal town has its own unique character and charm.
At the same time, new trends are emerging: more travelers are looking for exotic winter routes such as Thailand, the Seychelles, the Caribbean, and French Polynesia, where sailing is possible year-round and the sun never sets on the season.
We’re also seeing a rise in themed sailing trips - from wine-tasting routes in Italy to cultural journeys across the Aegean Sea, or slow-travel escapes in Sardinia’s quiet bays.
In short, 2026 will be the year when travelers choose not just a destination, but an experience - and the yacht becomes a way to discover the world more slowly, calmly, and authentically.
