Boat Charter in Lithuania

Discover the Curonian Lagoon, Nemunas Delta, and Lithuania’s hidden waters from the deck of your own boat.

Explore Lithuania’s Beautiful Coastline with Travel Boat

Lithuania has 99 km of coastline - and almost all of it looks better from the water. The Curonian Lagoon, a vast inland sea stretching along the UNESCO-listed Curonian Spit, is one of the most scenic waterways in the Baltic region. From the deck of a boat, the sand dunes rise straight from the water. The villages along the shore are quieter. The horizon is wider.

With Travel Boat, you can rent a motorboat in Nida or Klaipeda for a few hours or a full day - with a skipper included. No experience required. Boats are available for families, groups of friends, birthday celebrations, and corporate outings.

Season: May to September. Enquiry response: within 2–4 hours.

Why the Curonian Lagoon is worth exploring by boat

The Curonian Lagoon is the largest lagoon in the European Union - 1,584 km2 of calm, shallow water separated from the Baltic Sea by the Curonian Spit, a narrow 98-km sand peninsula. The water is sheltered, meaning little wave action and safe conditions even for first-time passengers.

On the western side: the Curonian Spit with its famous sand dunes, pine forests, and small resort towns. On the eastern side: the Nemunas Delta - a river delta wetland with fishing villages, bird reserves, and channels that can only be reached by boat.

Most visitors see the Curonian Spit from the beach or a bicycle path. By boat, you see it differently: dunes from the water, the village of Nida from the lagoon, and the kind of quiet that only exists on open water.

Where we sail - top destinations from Nida and Klaipeda

All boats depart from either Nida or Klaipeda - the two main towns on the Lithuanian side of the Curonian Lagoon. Both offer different experiences.

Nida

A resort town at the southern tip of the Curonian Spit, close to the Kaliningrad border. Known for the Parnidis Dune, the Thomas Mann House, and the widest part of the lagoon. Best departure point for scenic dune cruises and routes into the Nemunas Delta.

Klaipeda

Lithuania's only port city and the northern gateway to the Curonian Spit. A 20–30 minute sail from the marina brings you into the open lagoon. Good starting point for routes toward Juodkrante and Pervalka along the spit.

Juodkrante

A small resort village midway along the spit, reachable from both Nida and Klaipeda. Known for the Hill of Witches - an open-air gallery of wooden folk sculptures. A natural stop on any longer route.

Minija (Minge village)

A remote fishing village in the Nemunas Delta where the main street is a river. No road access from the spit - only reachable by boat. One of the most unusual places in Lithuania.

Ventes Ragas (Vente Cape)

A bird-ringing station and lighthouse on the eastern shore of the lagoon. One of the most important bird migration points in Europe, with up to a million birds passing through in September–October.
